Knock it off!

Chris and I have been fascinated by this blog. On it Ana makes requests and suggestions and makes wood working plans to build Pottery Barn/ Land of Nod (or anywhere really) like furniture.

Considering we are project people who like to save a buck (who doesn't??) and have plenty of empty space left in our house we decided we had to try this plan as soon as we saw it. It is a knock off of this Pottery Barn entryway storage bench and shelf.

Here is what we ended up with:

We are pretty happy with the results and that we spent less on the wood than we would have just for the baskets at PB.

In other news David is finally crawling (and reading the Friend, too.)

Easter . . . Finally

Lately Sadie just likes to talk and make conversation. She is almost always by my side, and loves it when she can sit on my lap and just talk to me. It is usually nothing too exciting, but I love it because I get a glimpse at what is going on in that little mind.

Here is a funny thing she said today.

Sadie: Are you my step-mother?
Me: No, I am just your mother.
Sadie: No! You are my step-mother!

How do you explain that to a three year old?? I guess we've read Cinderella quite a bit lately. . .

Does this dress look a little familiar?

Well, it should to Chris, because I made it out of one of his old dress shirts. I've made three of them so far, each a little different, but this one is my favorite.

And the rest is just some Easter Pics for the Grandparents. I've recently decided that I like making little collages, so sorry if I went overboard.
