Easter 2011

Just some pictures of our Easter Festivities:

I laid her down on the grass and within 10 seconds she was asleep. Weird, right?

One of our neighbors had the Easter Bunny bring baby chicks. . . the real kind.

I swear she was having fun.

Yes, that is chocolate on his lips. Notice that his basket is empty.

Man this kid makes me laugh.

Easter Eggs

We had some fun tonight dyeing Easter eggs. Sadie has been looking forward to this for weeks. We use some of those "no spill" cups and they worked okay, but I am pretty sure that a cup is easier to use. David just wanted to eat the candy filled eggs that we got in the mail from Grandma today.

The finished product:

A little conversation Sadie and I had today:

Me: Sadie, please come drink the rest of your milk.
Sadie: No, I don't want to.
Me: Okay, then you won't get anymore milk for the rest of the day.
Sadie: Why?
Me: Because it's a new rule.
Sadie: Did you just make that up?
Me: Yes, because I am the mommy.
Sadie: Oh . . . I just get to make up songs.

We are trying to figure out if Eve belongs to us. She is in the 90th percentile for weight and 80th for height. She had blue/ grey eyes and loves to be swaddled. Sadie and David were both born with brown eyes, were at the 50th percentile or below (usually way below that,) and didn't like to be swaddled past the first week. Even though she seems a little different we love having her in our home. She is turning out to be a pretty easy baby (now that she is only getting up once a night) and her main fault lately is that she is more interested in smiling and cooing than nursing.

More Fit for the Kingdom

An awesome friend of mine, Sarah, is organizing a 12 week fitness program to help people like me get back into shape. It is a well rounded program and includes challenges that change every week (no sugar, no eating after 7:30, 4 servings of veggies each day, etc.) and daily challenges for the whole 12 weeks (1/2 hour of exercise, scripture study, personal prayer, no soda, etc.) You earn points for completing different portions of the challenge and she is going to keep track of all the points and put them on a spreadsheet so that we are all accountable to each other.

I have NEVER been good at exercising, but my lingering baby weight makes me very open to the idea and I know that being accountable to others will help me stick to it.

It starts April 11th. Any one else inspired to join?? Check out the blog that she has started for more details and either contact me or her to join.
