Did you hear what the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is rated?

ARRGH!!

Every good themed birthday party needs a few quality jokes.  Unfortunately, they were hAARGHd to come by this morning.  In the picture above, Sadie is giving her best scary pirate face at her friend Andrew's birthday party. Pretty convincing, huh?

David, on the other hand, just doesn't look quite mean enough to be a pirate.  We're going to have to toughen him up a bit.

Sadie and David were invited to their good friend Andrew's birthday party.  The rest of the family tagged along as well. Someone needs to take photos and make sure none of the cupcakes go to waste! As for Eve, she found other things she was more interested in munching on.

As you can tell, they had a blast.

But in the end, David decided being a pirate was just too much for him. He gave up the bandanna and eye patch for the slide.

One Year Older and Wiser, too

If you know my husband at all, you probably know that he loves ice cream. It runs in his genes. His absolute favorite is chocolate peanut butter. So, I finally got smart this year and made him an ice cream cake for his birthday. I think it was a hit. I guess you can't go wrong with a cookie crust, chocolate peanut butter ice cream and a chocolate shell topped with peanut butter cups. 

 Also, as a side note, I decided that it would probably be too much work to put 32 candles on the cake, so I'd just put candles on in the shape of a 3 and a 2. It took 31 candles, so I added another on to make it 32 candles writing 32.

Here is to another 32+ years for this handsome man!

Halloween 2011

Halloween is such a fun time of year. I can't wait until next year when David has his own opinion about what he should be for Halloween.

This year at our house we had: an owl, Rapunzel and an astronaut. I didn't get a good picture of Eve's owl costume, but it is just a cape with an owl face on top. She wore it to our block party and ward party, but slept through the actual trick or treating.

David got to hang out with the big kids this year and did quite a bit of trick or treating. We love our neighbors and it was fun to go trick or treating with them.

My two favorite boys. I hear one of them is getting old!!
