It's a girl!

We woke up this morning at 5:00 am and headed for the hospital so that Lolly could be induced.  We got in the delivery room fairly quickly and got straight to work.  Lolly progressed at a steady pace until her doctor arrived around 12:30.  The doctor assured us that it wouldn't be much longer.  That is when the contractions stopped.  They more or less flat-lined for two hours. Ugh!!  It was Lolly's normal nap time, and we guess her body wasn't ready to give up the rest.  Two hours later, her body went back to work at full speed.  Evelyn (a.k.a. Eve) Reese Olson was born at 3:37 PM.  To our surprise, little Eve was not so little (at least not for an Olson).  She weighed in at a solid 8 lbs even and measured 20 inches long.  She has a full head of dark hair, some adorable round cheeks, and some good lungs.  Although her eyes look somewhat dark, we (i.e. Chris) isn't yet convinced that she will have the same dark brown eyes shared by her two siblings.  Mommy and daughter are doing great.  More pictures will follow.

Of course, we can't end this post without a HUGE THANK YOU to Brian and Audrey Schmidt who have been watching out little ones and even took them to church.  They are brave souls.  We couldn't have done it without you.  Also a big thank you to all of you others who have volunteered to help. We appreciate it.

Yeah, welcome baby, Eve! Lolly, you look way too cute and skinny to have just had a baby. :-) And careful on the "large baby" comments, Chris. Zoey is, in fact, an Olson and was WAY bigger... FYI. :-)
