Sadie, David, Eve and I all packed up and abandoned Chris for a week and a half last month. The drive to Utah went surprisingly well. We made four stops in the first four hours, and then only 2 in the last 7 hours.
We started out the trip at my Mom's house. We went to City Creek, played at the park, went swimming at Danny's, went to the splash park, and had a good time picking raspberries from my Mom's garden.

Eve enjoyed her Popsicle.
On our way to Chris' parents house we stopped and played with Rachelle and her kids. Rachelle and I often go a year or more without seeing each other, but we always love getting together and catching up.

Then we went to Chris' parents new house. His Mom and Dad just finished their mission a few weeks before, and only moved into their house days before we came. I intended on taking a picture of my kids with their Grandparents, but somehow that never happened. I did take lots of pictures of their beautiful house because Chris was so jealous that we got to see it before him.
The kids were in heaven there. They loved the kids loft and all of the toys to play with. We kept ourselves busy between the loft, playhouse, and theater room. We also went and played in the lake, swam in the hot tub, and animal watched on the balcony. The first day we were there David and his Grandpa saw a hawk, and David wouldn't stop talking about how he wanted to see another hawk.
David said his favorite part of the house is his mining cave "room" that is in the loft.
Likewise, Sadie liked her camping tent "room."
Eve really liked my bed, too. I think this was the only smile that we got from Eve while we were there, because she ended up cutting two molars while we were there.
We finished up the trip in St George to watch Aladdin at the Tuacahn Theater with my mom, my aunt and uncle, and my brother's and sister's families. The kids loved the play and they also had a great time swimming in the pools at our condo. Sadie was a fearless and determined to keep up with her older cousins. She was in the water so much that she ended up getting swimmers ear. Ouch!
It was a great trip, the only thing that could have made it better would have been having Chris with us! He took a "vacation" with the YM to San Diego last week where they went deep sea fishing, cleaned up a beach, visited the Mormon Battalion, and went to the San Diego Temple. He had a great time and got a much needed break.
